Lucille Celano is a New Zealand-based writer who takes a unique approach to life’s challenges. Her approach is simple: take something people avoid thinking about clearly, and make it feel doable — with honesty, humour, and just enough structure to actually get it done.
Drawing on her background in social anthropology, research into rites of passage, professional experience in retirement living and legacy-focused community foundation work, and fifteen years in development aid in the Pacific, she writes with a particular interest in the interplay of identity and culture. Lucille holds a Master's thesis on modern funeral rituals and the 2017 NZ Writers College Short Story Award among her credentials.
